Inmate Death Investigation in Licking

An investigation is underway at the South Central Correctional Facility in Licking after an inmate dies.The Missouri Department of Corrections says 52-year-old Jeffery Hartley was pronounced dead at 10:30am this morning at the Capitol Region Medical Center.
Hartley was serving a forty-year sentence for attempted rape and first degree burglary from Boone County, Missouri.
He started his time on December 27th, 1991.
An autopsy is pending.
