World class cyclists roll into the Ozarks this week.
The week long tour of Missouri begins Tuesday in Kansas City and makes its way to Springfield by about 3:30p.m. Wednesday and then it's on to Branson on Thursday.
More than 100 cyclists will take place in the 600 mile ride.
Teams from around the world will participate in the innagural event.
The Springfield Police Department says preparing for the event is similar to dealing with dignitaries coming to town.
Lt. Bob Brown of the Springfield Police Department says, "we have officers at every intersection along the route. We will give the order to shut down all traffic once cyclists are preparing to enter the city. Once they go by, those intersections will open back up at that time"
Police say the best place to catch the race is in the area of Division and Jefferson.
There will be other viewing locations set up around town.
The Tour of Missouri wraps up in St. Louis Sunday.
