In the quiet town of Clever, across the street from the supermarket, a new sign is brewing excitment in the small community.

Linda Martineau, Clever Resident "I think it will bring more activity to this tiny town that is growing."

What used to be an old fire station will now be the first ever Clever Library.

Linda Martineau, "It's the first time in my life, I've ever lived in a community and not have one."

Soon there will be a thousand books lining the shelves.library32007-08-26-1188184949.jpg

Donna Guggisberg, Clever Librarian, "I'm excited about it, I want to give it my best.

Donna Guggisberg will be the new librarian in Clever. Even though the library is about 350 square feet, she feels will be still be challenged with her new job.

Donna Guggisberg "My thinking is, it's most exciting one side of me is challenged the other side I know the good Lord, He will see me through."

She feels a library is definetly needed for the area.

Donna Guggisberg "I've heard that it's too far to drive back to Ozark with little children for books."

Mabel Phillips knows this wouldn't be possible without a generous donation along with a compromise from both city and county resources.

Mabel Phillips "Whenever you are operating a business it goes quickly, so we are cooperating with the library system providing personnell and material the city providing facility, furnishings and the insurance."

With only a few more weeks until the library is set to open, Martineau is happy this is in her community.

Linda Martineau, "I'm really happy we are going to have a library now my family we have to Greene County, which is a fabulous library, but we have to pay to use it, and now we won't have to do that."
