Foul Odor Smells Up Fellows Lake

Some customers of City Utilities water may notice a foul odor and film on the surface of the water at Fellows Lake.
Springfield City Utilities says it nothing to worry about. CU has been testing the pumps at Stockton Lake in deeper water than it normally does.
The water at that level doesn't get as much oxygen as the surface water and so the pumps are stirring up decay which affects Fellows Lake downstream.
A CU spokesman says the water may smell bad but poses no danger to Springfield's drinking water.
