The sounds of bluegrass could be heard ringing through the the gardens at Close Memorial Park this afternoon.
The second annual Bluegrass and Blossoms brought out crowds to take in the music of three bands as well as get a glimpse at the work that's been done at the park.
Organizers say this is the perfect way to bring awareness to the newly landscaped area.
Friends of the Garden member Tom Dye says, "we had a terrible
winter. It took down a lot of the beauty. But it's back now with trees and our splendid gardens out here we have planted that you need to see."
Today's event is part of an effort to rase money for the Botanical Center and gain volunteers for the Friends of the Garden Organization.
