The Springfield Sertoma Club puts on several successful events throughout the year to help raise money for charity.
There's the Wingapolloza in November, and the Chili Cookoff in February.
And this year, they decided to start another. The first annual Summer Sizzle. It's a backyard bar-b-que and kickball tournament held at the Summers at the River.
This year, 12 kickball teams were on hand as part of the double-elimination tournament.
This was the semi-final game between the Redbirds and Choice Mortgage. The Redbirds went on to win.
The Redbirds then took on Icy Hot in the championship game. Icy Hot wins it all. Chase Mortgage comes in second.
Besides kickball, there was also live music, as well as a rib-eating competition.
Of course, it's all for a good cause. The event raised money for the Springfield Boys and Girls Club.
Barron Hilton/Redbirds: "Well, we had a lot of our friends, and people come out that wanna help and benefit the Boys and Girls Club, and just enjoy a good Saturday afternoon in July. It really benefits everybody here because we got to spend time together, enjoy the outdoors, it's a great time a lot of fun, and get to meet new people. It's something everybody should really participate in."
