Cards Beat 'Hounds for First Time in 2007

The Springfield Cardinals had the past two days off for the Texas League All-Star break.
Wednesday, the Birds headed back to the diamond, opening up a three-game road set with the Midland Rockhounds.
The Cards haven't beaten the 'Hounds yet this year.
It was scoreless in the first, runner on for Vasili Spanos, and Cory Rauschenberger gets Spanos to ground into a inning-ending double play, six-four-three, still scoreless.
Third inning, more Cory. He k's Vince Faison to end the inning. Rausch struck out three over five and a third, giving up two runs on three hits.
Fifth inning, bases loaded for Juan Richardson. Peace out. Opposite field, off the foul poul, a grand slam, the first granny of the year by a Cardinal. Juan's 11th homer of the year. Four-nothing Birds.
The Cards win 6-3.
