The Missouri Highway Patrol is still investigating a crash on I-44 near Evergreen in northeast Springfield this morning. The call came in around 8:00 am after a semi-truck and a cattle trailer collided.
Several types of chemicals being transported in the truck and crews spent several hours cleaning it up. The Greene County Sheriff's Department says the chemicals are used in pool cleaning and are hazardous.
The truck was hauling more than a thousand pounds of the chemical which created a toxic cloud. But Logan-Rogersville Fire Department hazardous materials experts said the cloud dissipated without being a danger to the surrounding area.
Firefighters were called in after the semi caught fire.

A few of the cows in the trailer were killed. There were no serious injuries to either driver.
