Ford To Idle Several Plants - One in Missouri

(Dearborn, MI) -- Ford Motor Company is announcing plans to temporarily idle nine plants this quarter.
The facilities affected by the shutdowns employ about 23-thousand workers and are in Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Missouri, Kentucky, Ontario and Mexico.
In Michigan, one week shut-downs are scheduled at the Flat Rock and Wayne Assembly plants.
The Wayne Truck Plant will temporarily close at the end of the month and be retooled to make small cars.
The longest closures will be in Louisville, Kentucky, and St. Paul, Minnesota, where plants are scheduled to be closed all of December.
