Girl Recovering From Pit Bull Bites

An 8-year old Springfield girl is recovering after being bitten by her neighbor's pit bull Wednesday evening.
It happened around 8:15 in the 2500 block of South Kings.
Police say the dog got out of a fenced yard and bit the girl on the arm. That dog has been taken into animal control custody.
The girl was taken to a Springfield hospital, where she received stitches for a non-life-threatening injury.
