SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield schools and others have yet to make a call on whether to have classes, ahead of a winter storm set to hit the Ozarks Thursday.

Springfield administrators say parents should prepare for all options: having school, cancelling, or an early dismissal.

"We would make the decision to have school based on the idea that we believe we would be able to get a full day of school in," says Dr. Justin Herrell, associate superintendent for Springfield Public Schools.

Herrell says the district has used one snow day out of the six built into the district's calendar.
