Attempted Shoplifting At Macy's In Battlefield Mall

Some tense moments at the Battlefield Mall tonight as a shopper takes down a would be shop-lifter.
Springfield Police say a black male was removing security tags from items at Macy's in an attempt to steal.
A shopper noticed the man and confronted him.
That's when the suspect fled, shattering the glass exit doors in the process.
The shopper followed the suspect, tackling him in the Mall parking lot.
The suspect warned the citizen he had a weapon, and that's when the witness let the would be robber go.
Police caught up with that suspect just across the street.
He's being booked at the Greene-County Jail tonight.
