DETROIT -- At the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, all the buzz is surrounding this car right here: The 2014 Corvette Stringray.
The "Stingray" name hasn't been used on a new corvette since 1976. GM says it's the most powerful and fuel efficient Corvette ever.
GM's bringing back the Stingray name on a car with 450 horse power. It's supposed goes from zero to 60 in under four seconds. At the same time they say it will be the most fuel efficient Corvette ever made.
It's definitely recognizable as a Corvette but this is a completely different looking car, especially from behind with this radically redesigned rear view.
On the inside, traditionally a weak point for Corvettes, this one looks a lot better. GM's also promised it will feel better. Much more driver focused and sharper than ever before.
The Corvette goes on sale at the end of 2013 and we'll see whether it keeps this car at the top of the American sports car market.
