MISSOURI -- Only one roadway death was reported in the Show-Me State over the Thanksgiving holiday counting period, and it happened in the Ozarks.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports one person died between 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, November 25. That's down from four fatalities during the 2011 Thanksgiving weekend.

Troopers investigated 350 traffic crashes, which included 140 injuries. In addition, troopers arrested 140 people for driving while intoxicated.

The Highway Patrol investigated the fatal traffic crash Wednesday near Golden, Missouri, in Barry County.

There were no boating incidents reported during the 2012 Thanksgiving holiday counting period.

The Patrol adds that fatality statistics could change if late deaths are reported. Its 20-Mile Trooper enforcement, which ran from Wednesday through Sunday, has been deemed a success.
