SPRINGFIELD, Mo -- Junior wide receiver Jesse Vaughn was named Heart of America Conference player of the year.
This is the first time since 2002 a Crusader has earned the award. Vaughn led the conference and set an Evangel single season record with over 1, 200 receiving yards.
The Houston native also ranked 4th nationally with almost 115 yards per game.
In addition 18 other Crusaders were named to the all-conference team.
Head coach Brenton Illum and his Crusaders finished the season at 7-4 and ranked 23rd in the nation.
