CAMDENTON, Mo. -- A former teacher in the Macks Creek school is due back in court at the end of this month on charges of statutory rape involving a former student.

A hearing is set October 29 in Camden County associate circuit court for Jenner Shaffer, 40.  Shaffer was arrested in August and charged with having sex with the student, who told investigators she  gave birth to a baby as a result of the relationship.  The baby was a year old when the case came to light this summer.

The girl told investigators Shaffer was her English teacher at the time, and that she went to his home in Camden County several times in 2010 when she was 15 and Shaffer was 38.  (see court documents attached below)

Shaffer left the Macks Creek school district and moved to Wheatland, Missouri, where he was arrested.  He is currently free on $3,000 bond and has been ordered not to have communication with anyone under 17, including the victim.
