Car Slams into Fire Truck at Greene County Fire Scene

BROOKLINE, Mo. -- Fire destroys a home west of Springfield and a passing motorist slams his car into a fire truck at the scene.
The fire was reported just before midnight at an abandoned home near the intersection of Highway 266 and Farm Road 89 southwest of the Springfield-Branson National Airport.
When Brookline fire crews got there, they found the house engulfed in flames.
It is a total loss destroyed. No one involve din the fire was hurt. Crews are trying to figure out what caused the fire.

But a man was seriously hurt at the scene, after his car slammed into the back of a fire truck on the scene.
The car was totaled. The man was airlifted to a Springfield hospital.
The Highway Patrol tells us he was talking when he was pulled from the car. Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
