WEB EXTRA: Springfield Mayor Pro Tem on Marijuana Ordinance's Future

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- An ordinance adopted by City Council that decriminalizes marijuana in Springfield may not see the light of day after all.

Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Siefried says by passing it -- in order to gut it -- and not allowing it to go to a vote the city saved more than $180,000.

"We are not going to accept a drug community in Springfield. And when we do things and make gestures like this, it sends the wrong message to those who are breaking the law and doing drugs or those who want to move here because they can do drugs."
