JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of  Elementary and Secondary Education is urging schools to provide more breakfasts for their students.

The Department, through a program called "Missouri School Breakfast Challenge," is offering cash prizes for schools to increase enrollment in their breakfast programs.

The program is open to all public and private schools. Schools that have a 20 percent increase in students enrolling in a breakfast program could get a $4,000 cash prize from the Midwest Dairy Council.
