Starting Saturday, 'Stuff the Bus' to Help Springfield Students

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Some Springfield organizations are coming together to "Stuff the Bus" for local students.

The initiative will kick off Saturday, July 21, at the South Campbell Walmart from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will run through Saturday, August 4.

During that time, the public is encouraged to drop off backpacks and school supplies that will ultimately go to children who attend Springfield Public Schools.

The drive is being put together by James River Assembly in cooperation with Care to Learn and Chick-fil-A.

The community is invited to drop off backpacks and school supplies at the big yellow school bus at any of these locations:

-Saturday, July 21st 11am-5pm S. Campbell Walmart
-Sunday, July 22nd 9am-1pm James River Assembly / South Campus
-Monday, July 23rd 11:45am-1pm Sunrise Communications
-Monday, July 23rd 6pm-10pm Hammons Field
-Tuesday, July 24th 11am-1pm James River Assembly / South Campus
-Thursday, July 26th 11am-1pm Prime Inc.
-Friday, July 27th 11:30am-1:30pm Cox South
-Saturday, July 28th 11am-5pm Independence Walmart
-Sunday, July 29th 9am-2pm James River Assembly / West Campus
-Tuesday, July 31st 11am-1pm Drury University
-Tuesday, July 31st 6pm-8pm Chick-fil-A
-Wednesday, August 1st Noon-2pm City of Springfield, Greene Co. & City Utilities Offices
-Thursday, August 2nd Mercy Hospital 10:30am-1:30pm
-Saturday, August 4th 10am-5pm Battlefield Mall parking lot (tax free weekend) 

The backpacks and supplies will be delivered to the children after August 8th through Care to Learn, the Salvation Army and Springfield Public Schools.
