Fair Play Man Sentenced to Eight Years for Statutory Sodomy

(Polk County, MO) -- A Fair Play, Missouri man is sentenced to eight years for sodomizing a child.

In January 2005, Duane C. Slack was charged with Statutory Sodomy in the First Degree on a person under 14 years of age.

Thursday, Polk County Prosecuting Attorney Kenneth Ashlock said the Honorable Judge John Sims handed down the eight Slack's sentence.

Slack pleaded guilty to this crime on March 15, 2012. As part of his plea, Ashlock agreed to prosecute Slack on only one count instead of multiple instances of the same crime.

Ashlock says Slack's attorney argued for probation; Ashlock asked for the maximum sentence of 15 years.

Slack was taken into custody at the Polk County Jail. He'll later be transferred to the Department of Corrections Diagnostic Reception in Fulton, Missouri.
