Texas Gov. Perry to Rally Martin Supporters in SE Missouri

(Cape Girardeau, MO) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry is expected to be in Missouri next week to rally Republicans behind Ed Martin, as Martin continues his campaign against Attorney General Chris Koster.

Perry, a former Republican presidential hopeful, is scheduled to attend an event for Martin in Cape Girardeau on June 29.

"Governor Perry is a great patriot and a conservative fighter," Martin said. "Perry believes in the American values of freedom and liberty that made the USA the greatest nation in history. He knows what it will take to stand up and defeat big-government outrages such as Obamacare."

Martin's campaign said the event is open to the public, but attendees will be required to have a ticket.
