(Jefferson City, MO) -- As her reelection campaign gears up, U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., is continuing her push to seek the vote of Missouri veterans.

Wednesday, her campaign launched "Veterans for Claire," a web initiative that the campaign hopes will be a key channel for organizing and mobilizing veterans in support of McCaskill.

It features a video of McCaskill's mother, Betty Anne, discussing the Arlington Cemetery scandal, which McCaskill heavily pursued last year after discovering that graves had been marked incorrectly.

To help organize support, McCaskill enlisted Jack Hembree, a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army, to lead the effort. Hembree, a Springfield resident who served in Korea and Vietnam, said veterans have "got Claire's back" in this year's election.

Earlier in the year, the Democratic veterans's group Vote Vets launched a $200,000 ad campaign in favor of McCaskill.
