Christians across the world and right here in the Ozarks are celebrating Palm Sunday.
The day commemorates Jesus Christ's coming to Jerusalem in prior to his crucifixion.
While the day is one of strong tradition and history, one Springfield church is marking the event with lively song, music and media production.
Cornerstone Church leaders say the unconventional methods are being used to communicate a conventional message.
Pastor Jess Gibson says, "what we try to do here is bring a fresh touch into the Church to present the gospel in a fresh way to a 21st century generation."
Other local churches took advantage of the nice weather to hold outdoor palm ceremonies.
Area congregations will celebrate Holy Week in the coming days leading up to Easter.
