Ban on Plastic Bags

Many of us don't worry about packing up groceries at our local supermarkets. But city leaders in
People living there will now have a choice of paper, cloth or biodegradable plastic bags. But since the new plastic bag will be more expensive to make, some supermarkets say they might stop carrying the bags or charge customers that use them.
KOLR10 News asked people in the Ozarks their opinion on the issue.
"I prefer the paper bags. But when I have the plastic bags, I do recycle. I take them to different flea markets and they use them and hopefully someone else will recycle.” says Carole Tracy.
While Maryetta Dennis says, “I like them just for the convenience of carrying my groceries. Then, I put trash in them to throw them away."
Meantime, a spokesman with the Natural Resources Defense Council says more trees will have to be cut down if paper bag use increases.
