(Springfield, MO) -- Faith and science came together Monday as the topics of a new conference at Evangel University.
The purpose is to educate Pentecostal believers on how to share their faith with people from the science community.
Organizers agree there tends to be a thought that faith and science contradict each other.
But church leaders believe the two actually inform each other on a continual basis.
And now is an important time to be having this conversation.
"I think that out culture has arrived at a place where technology is a given," says Dr. Michael Tenneson, Evangel biology professor. "We don't question the good or bad of technology. We just embrace it wholeheartedly. And I think that a thoughtful person should evaluate the merits of adoption of what's what science tells us."
This conference is also meant to educate believers about the church's stance on ethical issues like human reproduction and intelligent design.
