Nixon Looks Into Price Gouging

Missouri's attorney general is lookng into price gouging in areas affected by the ice storm.


Jay Nixon's office has received more than 100 complaints concerning inflated prices for gasoline, kerosene, generators, motel rooms, and tree trimming services.


You can report price gouging by going online or call the consumer protection hotline at 1-800-392-8222.


Complaints range from gas stations charging as much as a dollar or more per gallon over the normal price and motels charging 50 to 75 dollars more.


People found guilty of price gouging can face 1,000 dollars in fines per violation.
