(Springfield, MO) -- Some senior citizens in the Ozarks are facing a dilemma this summer - how to get help with home cooling when funding has dried up from assistance agencies.

In-home health care provider Oxford Health Care is now collecting new fans and getting them to seniors and those with chronic medical conditions.
The company announced the project Monday.

According to Oxford, changes in the regulations for government funding sources that used to provide these type of services have changed. Agencies who provide utility assistance no longer give away fans.

Oxford has more than 100 people on a waiting list for fans. The company will deliver donated fans to people who are homebound and don't have transportation.

You can donate online at www.oxfordhealthcare.net or call 883-7500 to make a pledge.

Fan and donation drop off sites:

3660 S. National Ave., Springfield
1550 E. Sunshine St., Springfield
Simmons First Bank, 65 and Battlefield
813 W. Broadway St. West Plains

In need of fan: call Oxford at 1-800-749-6555
Oxford says those requesting fans need to be over 65, or suffer from a chronic medical condition.
