(Little Rock, AR) -- Arkansas is significantly below the national average when it comes to jobless claims.
But the state is still losing jobs.
The unemployment rate in the state rose by half a point in May.
The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services says unemployment rate at the end of May was at seven percent.
The national rate is at 9.4-percent.
Manufacturing layoffs appear to be the biggest contributor to unemployment numbers for the past month.
