(St. Louis)  --  St. Louis' newspaper, "The Post Dispatch", was named a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize on Monday.

The paper is being considered for its reporting of the Kirkwood City Hall shootings last year.

The Pulitzer jury applauded its "creative and aggressive coverage, both online and in print" as well as its "exemplary blend of speed and rigor."  The "Post-Dispatch" has already taken a couple of awards for its reporting on the shootings, last week they won a national Sigma Delta Chi Award and a national Online Journalism Association award.

They have also been honored as a finalist for an American Society of Newspaper Editors award and won third place in the National Headliner Awards.
