Chrysler May Close Plant In Fenton

(Fenton) -- A report from the "Detroit Free Press" reports that Chrysler's St. Louis/Fenton plant is one of the most likely to close in an upcoming restructuring.
The official word could come in as little as the next nine days.
The announcement would mean the loss of the last 1,200 or so jobs at the plant.
A February 17th deadline for Chrysler and GM leaders to submit cost-cutting plans to the U.S. Treasury Department is just a little more that a week away.
Plant closings are expected.
Spokespeople for Chrysler and GM have yet to confirm if plant closures are included in the plans.
