The weather was warm, but one Springfield business was welcoming the start of fall today.

Wickman's Garden Village held its annual fall festival and open house today in Springfield.

The event included local Ozarks crafters and artists displaying their talents.

Kids were also treated to a petting zoo, face painting, pumpkin painting, and various games.wickmans32007-09-09-1189393071.jpg

Wickman's plant experts say the fall is a great time to plant, especially after the recent rains.

Nursery manager Nikki Petitt says, "there's a lot of things that can be planted this time of year to add fall color. Of course the obvious would be maple trees and your larger plants, mums, pansies, things of that nature will give you some good bloom and color for fall. But also alot of the shrubs."

The Wickman's location in Monett hosted a similar event today.
