An Ozarks city hall is deemed unsafe after a flash flood ripped through town two weeks ago.

The Pleasant Hope City Council recently voted to condemn the building, which houses the town's police department, municipal court, public works and other city services.  Members of the council decided that repair on the structure would be too costly.

Pleasant Hope's City Hall recently moved to a temporary store front because of the damage.

PLEASANTHOPE22007-09-06-1189123222.jpg"We had plans for the building.  We were in the process of remodeling and we had discussed what to do with it.  We decided we were going to go ahead and use the building to our advantage.  All those plans are by the wayside." says Pleasant Hope Mayor John Homer.

City leaders have formed a committee that will look at several options for building a new city hall facility.  Its members will make a recommendation and then the city will go from there.
