The man accused of killing Jackie Johns of Nixa in 1985 will remain in jail until his trial.
This morning, a Greene County judge ruled that Gerald Carnahan will not be allowed to post bond and get out of jail.
Carnahan is accused of raping and murdering Johns whose body was found in Springfield Lake 22 years ago this summer.
Carnahan, who was the prime suspect in the case, was arrested and charged last week based on new DNA evidence.
His next court appearance is September 7.
