Cards Make Comeback, Beat Hooks

Tonight, for the first time in four months, Reid Gorecki stepped onto Hammons Field as a member of the Springfield Cardinals.
The center fielder, who was at one time on the St. Louis Cardinals 40-man roster, has been rehabbing a broken hand. Looking to get it started again.
He got a chance in the first. He was on deck with bases loaded when Cody Haerther walks. That forces in a run, one-nothing Cards.
So it's Gorecki's turn. But he would go down swinging. The Cards would then hit into a double-play to end the first.
In the third, the Cards were threatening, runners on first and second, but Gorecki pops it up to first. Gorecki ended the day oh-for-three with two k's.
Another chance for Springfield in the fourth, runner on third with two down, Mark Shorey destroys this pitch. But it's right to the right fielder, Ray Sadler. Still one-nothing.
The Cards were down four late. But they came back to win, 7-6.
