SpfldCardsBat2007-08-10-1186803794.jpgIt's the best in the Texas League North against the best in the South at Hammons Field as Springfield hosts San Antonio.

The Cards were looking for their second straight win over the Missions Friday night.

And the circus is in town, elephant rides for everyone before the game.

San Antonio would open the scoring in the first, Nick Hundley singles to left, Will Venable scores and it's 1-nothing Missions.

Cards pitcher P.J. Walters helps himself in the second by picking off Drew Macias at first.

Venable would add to that lead in the third, he drives this deep to right center, over the Steak and Shake sign and gone a solo blast it's 2-nothing.

San Antonio adds to that lead later in that inning, bases loaded and Macias breaks his bat on this dribbler to third, it scores Colt Morton, 3-nothing.

Missions pitcher Mike Ekstrom in control, he strikes out Walters here and San Antonio wins 5-3.
