Memorial services for actor Paul Newman will be private.

   Lissy Newman, the daughter of the 83-year-old screen legend says people wanting to pay tribute to her father should do so by showing kindness to friends, donating money to charity or by voting in the upcoming elections.

   Speaking to reporters, Lissy said, quote, "Just look out for each other.
   That's really what he was all about.
   He was awesome to the end, and he is an awesome guy and his spirit will be with us forever and ever and ever." 

Meantime, Paul Newman's friends and colleagues continue to share their thoughts about the screen icon.
   Newman's "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" co-star Robert Redford says he is "beyond words" in grappling with the news of the death of his friend and colleague.

   People.com quotes a statement from Redford which says, "I have lost a real friend.
   My life - and this country - is better for his being in it."  Redford and Newman also co-starred in 1973's "The Sting."

   Elizabeth Taylor who co-starred with Newman in "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" said Newman was "goodness and kindness and pure integrity," and Martin Scorsese who directed Newman's Oscar winning performance in "The Color of Money" said Newman "set a new standard" with his "powerful eloquence" and "his consummate sense of craft." 

Sally Field, George Clooney, Sidney Poitier, James Garner, Senator Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton are also among the many who have offered public statements in regards to Newman's passing.

   Newman is survived by his wife of 50 years, actress Joanne Woodward, five daughters, two grandsons, and his older brother Arthur.
