(Jefferson City)  --  The state Department of Health and Human Services is advising the public that a horse that was on display at the Missouri State Fair has died of rabies.

   The horse was diagnosed on August 17th, but could have contracted the disease sooner than that.

   The horse was shown at the Saddlebred Show at the fair.

   Anyone who thinks they may have been bitten by a horse at the fair is asked to call officials at 573-751-6114.
