Tom Trtan

Hi, I'm Tom Trtan, Meteorologist for KOLR10 and Ozarks Fox.  You can see me every Monday through Friday at 5 and 6 in the morning on KOLR10 and at 7AM on Ozarks Fox.   I am the calming influence.

Originally from Indiana, I like to tell people that I am a graduate of the Longine Symphonette Conservatory of Music.  In reality I studied Speech and Theatre at St. Joseph's College hoping to be the next big thing to hit the Broadway
Stage and the Silver Screen.

After several years of acting, singing and dancing in such exotic and far-flung locales as Paris, Rome, Naples, Kansas City and Lansing, Illinois, I journeyed to Springfield and turned my attention to the small screen.

I have been a Springfield resident for over 25 years and have been married to a Springfield native for 30 plus years.  We have 4 children – ages 18 to 28, 1 dog....and get very little sleep.

Golf is my game, which I enjoy playing whenever possible, however, since Rob Evans beat me (once) I am considering giving the game up. 

Also, I have learned playing a mandolin poorly (which I am entirely capable of) is a fine tool in the quest to drive one’s children crazy.

I have been on the KOLR10 staff since 1985 and a weathercaster since '87.   In an effort to better understand and present weather to our viewers, I enrolled in a three year course of intensive study, receiving my certification as a Broadcast Meteorologist from Mississippi State University in August 1999.

I am proud to be part of what I consider to be the finest team of Meteorologists in the Ozarks.
