Twenty-five high school students from across the state began the Inaugural Innovation Academy at Missouri State University this morning.

Congressman Roy Blunt was on hand, emphasizing the importance of the three-week program, which stresses innovation and creativity.

The students will hear from guest speakers, help with case studies, and even go on field trips, to learn first-hand about innovation.

The academy is funded through a grant from the Department of Education.
