A crash in southeast Springfield led to some traffic tie-ups and a busy afternoon for rescue crews.

The crash left a car hanging over an embankment. But eyewitnesses tell KOLR-10 the car was actually driving on the road below.

They say the driver was trying to turn on to Lone Pine but swerved, hit a light pole and then rolled up the hill.

A witness to the crash said the driver was swerving out of control and car almost flipped before settling on the embankment.

The driver was been taken away in an ambulance. Crews spent a good amount of time working to get that car off of the ledge.
