(Springfield)- Landing the lunker of a lifetime in the virtual world.
With a little help from their parents, kids tried their luck at fishing and hunting Sunday afternoon.
Through computer assisted fishing rods and guns, young outdoor enthusiasts could catch and shoot virtual fish and deer.
The event was held at the Springfield Conservation Center.
Naturalists say while the game never takes place of the real experience, the simulation is great practice.
"It's not exactly like hunting, but it provides a pretty close feel for what it's like," Missouri Department of Conservation Naturalist Morgan Wyatt said.
The free event was open to kids of all ages.
