Monday, Nov 23, 2009 @09:26pm CST E. Coli, pesticides and other pollutants are all things the Missouri Department of Natural Resources has been looking closely for recently at Lake of the Ozarks.
Today DNR wrapped up a series of tests ordered by Governor Jay Nixon. It was in response to the E. Coli report delays over the summer. DNR analyzed samples from nearly 80 sites across the Lake. Governor Jay Nixon also asked the state to investigate entities that have permits to discharge water into the Lake. That resulted in 100 warning letters and 60 notices of violations of Missouri's clean water rules. Twenty-nine cases have been referred to the Attorney General. |
