(Bolivar, MO) -- Bolivar police are looking for someone who shot at an officer.

Around 3:00 a.m. Monday morning, the officer tried to pull over someone for a traffic violation.  But the driver took off and later left the stolen vehicle on North Park Avenue.
   
When the officer stopped to investigate, he says he heard four gunshots.  That triggered a search for the suspect.  Officers even brought out a K-9 unit, which didn't turn up a suspect.
   
There were several stolen items in the abandoned vehicle, including police gear.  An investigation is underway.
