Reported by: Charlie Hannema Friday, May 9, 2008 @09:28pm CDT Tim Clubb pitched a complete game shutout and won his ninth game of the year as Missouri State picked up a 2-0 win over Middle Tennessee State Friday night at Hammons Field.Clubb struck out three, walked two, and give up four hits as he became the first Missouri State pitcher to start a season 9-0 since 2001. Middle Tennessee's Kenneth Roberts matched Clubb's effort in the early innings, going five and two-thirds innings before giving up a hit. Missouri State's Ben Woodbury broke up the no-hitter in the bottom of the 6th, and scored the game's first run on a Brayden Drake RBI double later in the inning. Missouri State improves to 34-14 overall, and will play Middle Tennessee State again Saturday at 12:30 p.m. |
