(Joplin, MO) -- A fight between two men ends in the death of one of them and the arrest of the other.

Jasper County Sheriff's deputies say they were called to a house on Red Fox Road in Joplin Wednesday night to check out reports of a fight.
The person who called 9-1-1 said two men were fighting with a bat and a knife.

When deputies got there, they found Ralph Ivy, 50, who lived at the house.  He was badly injured and taken to a Joplin hospital where he later died.

A second man, age 37, was arrested at a house not far away.  He is being held on suspicion of 2nd degree murder.  Formal charges have not been filed.
