Tuesday, Nov 17, 2009 @03:50am CST (Columbia) -- A former central Missouri funeral director has admitted to giving three families the wrong cremated remains. Harold Warren Senior, 77, pleaded guilty Monday to three counts of unlawful merchandising practices. Each charge carries a four-year prison sentence. Both prosecutors and attorneys for Warren asked the judge to waive prison time in exchange for a public apology from Warren. Missouri officials closed the Warren Funeral Home in Columbia last year after a woman's body was found stored in an electrical room for ten months without refrigeration or embalming.
