Reported by: Sonya Kullmann Tuesday, Nov 17, 2009 @06:56am CST Cold air has made its way into the Ozarks, and unfortunately, it may be creeping into local homes, too. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is out with some weatherization tips. You just might want to try some of them today. Take some time to caulk around your windows and weatherstrip around your doors. That will seal out a lot of cold air. Open your drapes during the day to let in warm sunlight, But close them again at night to keep cold air out. If you have gas appliances, look for blue flames. Yellow flames mean the appliance is operating inefficiently, and is burning more fuel than necessary. Replace your furnace filter once a month to help your heater run more efficiently.
