Tuesday, Nov 10, 2009 @05:24am CST (Springfield, MO) -- Last week's sales tax election in Springfield is now official. City Council certified the election results at its regular meeting last night. Those results are now sent to the county. Last Tuesday, Springfield voters approved a three-quarters cent sales tax to shore up the police-fire pension fund. Also at Monday night's meeting, Council members took up a bill allowing for an archery deer hunt within the city limits. The hunt would be under the direction of the Missouri Department of Conservation and there would be other restrictions. Because the bill was added late to the agenda, members of the public can still comment on the bill at the November 23 Council meeting. |
