When you’re gonna start feeding birds, the first thing you would want to do would be to come in and talk to our knowledgeable staff. Get some recommendations on the types of feeders that are available and what kind of birds they work best for. Then after that you will determine the type of bird feed or bird seed that will go into those. For instance, for woodpeckers you would want to look at a soot cake feeder or a peanut feeder. For finches, you would want to do a finch feeder with thistle seed . Or just get all around coverage, feed black oil sunflowers. That’s just pretty good for starting basic bird feeding.
